How can parents help in the learning process with their child?
- Ask your child about what’s happening in school.
- Homework Expectations- Establish an hour of time each weekday for homework.
- Help your child learn to read and “mathematize” for leisure. Research shows that students who choose to do these activities during their free time are more successful at school.
- Make sure that your child is reading at least 20 minutes each day…hopefully more…Review the reading part of the blog…get your child hooked on terrific literature at home!
- Encourage your child to do discovery math (YES’s optional math homework activity).
- Check in on the blog each month to learn new things about what’s happening at school.
